Types of Torno.
The most common type of lathe lathe is called in its many varieties. Other types of disorders are understood in general by the name of special winches.
Understanding the parts of the lathe .- In a lathe can distinguish four main parts:the bed, the headstock, the tailstock and trucks. Each of these parts consists of various organs.

Caucus: A prism casting held by one or more feet and carefully brushed and smoothed to provide support and guidance to other parts of the lathe. The bedsare of two classes, depending on the shape of its cross section: from prismaticor American and dovetail guides or European. The frame can also be low-cutor whole, according to the guidelines with or without a hole called cleavage, whose main purpose is to allow for turning large diameter pieces. This necklineis covered with a bridge to the current works.
Head: This consists of a frame or box casting set to one end of the bench andtightly bound to it by screws. At the top are housed in two bearings that rotateperfectly fitted a steel shaft, usually hollow. In the same head are mountedgenerally bodies of transmitting the motion of the motor shaft.
.- Air around these lathes are designed to work large pieces. They have nobench, and the headstock, tailstock and carriage are set in large cast iron plates embedded in the ground. Between the head and the tailstock is a pit toturning large diameter pieces.Este es un documento extraído de la pagina http://html.rincondelvago.com/el-torno.html
